How to change or replace a blown fuse

What do you do -When the fuse blows or trips  the MCB (short for miniature circuit breaker) a protective fuse that detects unusual fluctuations in electrical current to a particular part of the house or device and cuts of the supply of electricity to the device.Do not panic: Follow this simple guideHow to Replace/Change a Blown Fuse

TURN OFF THE POWER AT THE MAINS

1.Double check by plugging in a workable radio,Lamp etc.

2. The fuse box should be labelled with the devise or part of the house that a particular fuse controls.-If there is no list of devices then you will need to eliminate each one in turn-or remove the fuses individually and check them.

3. The simple way to eliminate the problem is to know the rating of each fuse and what they do;   5 AMPS-Lights 30 AMPS-Sockets

4. To restore power back to the device or the Part of the house that was affected-simplyswitch the fuse box back to the ON position.

5. If you replace a fuse then always replace it with one of the same rating In the older fuse boxes that use a fuse wire you may normally notice a slight burn mark around the affected fuse. This type of fuse cannot be reset by the flick of a switch-In all cases you need to find out why the fuse tripped in the first place
